Getting belongings between a building and a vehicle can be the most demanding part of a move. The work depends on the items, the route through the property and where the vehicle can stop. Share those details so loading and unloading can be planned before the team arrives.
Check doorways, corridors, stairs and lift dimensions for larger furniture. Mention tight turns or an entrance that cannot be used for deliveries. Ask the building manager about permitted moving hours and lift booking.
Provide the floor at each address and tell us whether the lift is available for goods. A lift in the building does not always mean it can be used for furniture.
Describe the furniture, boxes, appliances or other goods requiring handling, including any unusually heavy items.
Share floor levels, lift availability, stairs, vehicle position and any loading restrictions.
Confirm whether you need loading, unloading or both. Discuss packing and transport separately if required.
The team carries out the agreed handling work using the access arrangements discussed for the job.
Check the items and their agreed placement before completing the handling service.
Confirm the services, responsibilities and proposed arrangements in your quotation before booking.
Discuss Your RequirementsList heavy appliances, large cupboards, glass furniture and unusually shaped equipment separately. Tell us if dismantling is needed or if an item has parts that must remain upright.
Discuss specialist equipment requirements in advance. Do not improvise lifting arrangements at the last minute or assume ordinary household handling covers heavy machinery.
Clarify who packs, dismantles, loads, transports, unloads and reassembles. When another carrier is involved, coordinate the vehicle arrival and handover responsibilities with that provider.
See our goods transportation service if transport is also required. Packing preparation is explained on the packing and moving page.
Keep the access route clear and separate items that should stay behind. At the destination, decide where larger furniture will go before unloading begins.
Use an inventory or carton list to check the handover. Point out fragile packages and confirm which items require placement or reassembly after unloading.

Share the floor, stair access and item list first. The team will review the handling work and include the relevant arrangements in the quotation.
They are different tasks. Specify unpacking, placement or reassembly if you need those services after unloading.
Explain the carrier, vehicle type and timing. Availability and the division of responsibility need to be agreed before booking.
Weight, size, access and any specialist equipment can affect the work. Identify those items when asking for the quote.
Share your pickup, destination and preferred date, along with the items or services involved. We will help you work through the next steps and prepare a quotation for your requirements.
